Moncton to host CANADA2015 action next summer
Having recently played host to eight matches during the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Canada 2014, the Official Host City of Moncton is now preparing for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015, where it will see seven matches over five days at Moncton Stadium.
Moncton will host competition group matches on June 9, 13, 15, and 17, with a round of sixteen on June 21.
Moncton: a hub of sport entertainment
Moncton has a long history of hosting sport events, yet Canada 2014 has marked the first major international soccer competition to take place in Hub City.
Soccer New Brunswick is the governing body for soccer in the province and promotes the game throughout New Brunswick. The non-profit organisation was established in 1965 and aims to enable the development and growth of soccer across the province. Codiac Soccer Moncton is the regional body for the game in the city.
Moncton Stadium is the home of the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleu(e)s men’s and women’s soccer programs.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 will feature 24 teams in 52 matches across six Canadian cities from coast to coast: Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montréal, and Moncton. The competition runs from June 6 to July 5, 2015.
